    Position Summary: Full-time CASHIER/CUSTOMER SERVICE REP position. Responsible for providing excellent customer service to walk in customers and contractors by helping them locate the proper products and materials for their job, project or problem. The cashier will handle cash, credit and charge account transactions. Provide support as a member of the Front End team to include assisting customers during the checkout process and performing all cash register functions. Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and team members.

    This position is located in at 5229 Hwy 90 W Tillman's Corner, Mobile, Alabama.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    · Provide excellent customer service and address needs of customers in a timely and effective manner. Surprise and delight the customers with excellent customer service.

    · Assist other Front End employees in controlling customer flow and backed up lines; help to reduce waiting time for customers.

    · Follow proper procedures for customer transactions (Cash, Debit/Credit Cards, Returns, etc.)

    · Maintain a safe, clean and well-organized working and shopping environment by changing tapes and ribbon as needed and keeping store entrance neat and clean.

    · Answer telephone calls and pages quickly and with excellent phone etiquette.

    Requirements:

    BUILDING MATERIALS OR HARDWARE EXPERIENCE IS A HUGE PLUS!

    • Strong work ethic and attention to detail

    • Must be able to count and handle money

    • Must understand the importance of giving customers a WOW customer service experience and be committed to providing superior service.

    • MUST have a positive attitude, friendly demeanor and be able to answer the phone with a SMILE.

    • Must be personable and professional, computer literate with excellent verbal communication skills; able to communicate effectively with management, colleagues and customers.

    • Knowledge of building materials, millwork, and related products (trusses, roofing, etc.) a plus.

    • Sales experience a plus.

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a sense of urgency

    • Use of tools and equipment, including box cutters

    Other Requirements:

    • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
    • Must be able to pass a pre-employment and random drug screens

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    · Continuously stand, squat, hear, see, bend, stoop, grip, twist, climb, reach, walk, write, and kneel; push/pull up to 50 lbs, and lift/ carry up to 50 lbs.

    · Work 6-8 hour shifts up to 6 days per week.
