INDUSTRY: Equipment Rentals

LOCATION: San Antonio, TX (and surrounding 1-hour radius)

POSITION TYPE: Full-Time, Non-DOT

SCHEDULE: 40 hours/week + available overtime | Rotating on-call schedule with additional weekend on-call pay

CONTEXT: Our client is a respected provider of construction rental equipment, known for their reliable service and strong presence in the West Texas region. To maintain their high standard of field support, they are seeking a dependable, adaptable Field Mechanic to join their team in San Antonio.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Diagnose, service, and repair construction rental equipment, including aerial lifts, telehandlers, light towers, and general support equipment.
• Operate a company service truck safely to respond to field service calls within a 1-hour radius of Abilene.
• Perform minor, non-structural welding and small repairs as needed.
• Maintain a flexible mindset, transitioning smoothly between field service calls and shop/yard maintenance.
• Participate in the rotating on-call schedule (with extra pay for weekend rotations).

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Solid mechanical experience specifically working on construction rental equipment.
• You must bring your own general hand/pneumatic tools (specialty and diagnostics are provided).
• High School Diploma or GED required. Technical training or certificates are a nice bonus, but absolutely not required.
• Basic welding knowledge is a major plus, but we are willing to train the right person if you have the mechanical basics down.
• This is a Non-DOT position, but a clean driving record is required to operate the company service truck.
