    Experienced water or wastewater operator who likes variety and problem-solving?

    This position supports water and wastewater treatment facilities across the United States during operational transitions, staffing gaps, and technical challenges. It’s a hands-on role for experienced operators who are comfortable working in different plant environments and helping teams keep systems running safely and efficiently.

    Role Overview

    The Traveling Water and Wastewater O & M Specialist provides on-site operational support, technical troubleshooting, and leadership coverage at treatment facilities nationwide. Assignments may include short-term coverage, process support, training, or day-to-day operations depending on site needs.

    Travel is a core requirement of this role.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    • Support daily operations at water and wastewater treatment facilities
    • Step in to provide temporary supervisory or management coverage
    • Assist with process control, troubleshooting, and system optimization
    • Perform operational and maintenance activities as needed
    • Train plant staff on procedures, tools, and best practices
    • Use digital platforms to support data collection and reporting
    • Coordinate with regional and project teams to meet operational needs
    • Assist with emergency response and recovery efforts when required

    What We’re Looking For

    • Experience in water and or wastewater treatment operations
    • Active certifications or licenses preferred
    • Prior lead or supervisory experience strongly preferred
    • Knowledge of treatment processes, equipment, and controls
    • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
    • Experience with utility or asset management software is a plus
    • Willingness to wear required PPE, including respirators
    • Strong communication skills and professional judgment
    • Willingness and ability to travel extensively

    Travel Requirement

    • Nationwide travel required
    • Approximately 75 percent travel annually
    • Assignments vary in duration based on operational needs
