DEPARTMENT: Accounting & Finance REPORTS TO: Accounting & Finance Manager FLSA STATUS: Nonexempt

RATE OF PAY: $18.00/hour

SUMMARY:

The Accounting Intern supports the Accounting and Finance department by completing assigned projects and assisting with various Accounting activities including accounts payable and month-end closing. This internship is intended to last for up to 6 months with the possibility of promotion to Accounting Specialist, depending upon job performance and business conditions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Review and approve A/P accounting documents from various departments using appropriate GAAP/IFRS practices and internal control policies and procedures
• Examine and approve all purchase requisitions for each department through the SAP and VAATZ systems in accordance with internal control policies and procedures
• Respond promptly to vendor’s statements verification requests or AP payment inquiries
• Prepare the AP list statement for some vendors
• Upload intercompany transactions to Business Planning and Consolidation(BPC) system after monthly closing
• Purchase the accounting department’s various office supplies and maintain proper stock through general purchasing guidelines, policies and procedures
• Assist with quarterly and annual audits
• Organize and maintain files in the accounting file room
• Scan and deliver invoices to responsible departments
• Identify and implement productivity and process improvements
• Ensure company adherence to policies and procedures
• Assist the department with month-end closing
• Perform other ad hoc responsibilities as assigned by the Department Manager, HOD, or CFO

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

• Ability to learn new tasks quickly
• Ability to complete routine accounts payable tasks accurately and on-time
• Familiarity Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Proven time management and organization skills
• Proven ability to meet and maintain accurate and timely work products
• Proven ability to work interdependently as a member of the Accounting Team

After molding, instrument panel frames move to the Module plant next door where we prepare them to receive additional parts to form a complete Cockpit (dashboard) assembly. Also in the Module building are our front and rear Chassis (vehicle suspension) assembly lines. Here, parts from Tier 2 and 3 suppliers are assembled into completed Chassis modules which are transported to nearby HMMA for final vehicle assembly. Our Redistribution Center (RDC) supplies genuine Hyundai and KIA after-service parts to dealerships, auto parts stores, and other parts distribution centers. We receive parts from suppliers globally which are distributed across North America to satisfy our customers’ demand for high-quality automotive parts.
