    Plato’s Closet has filled a unique niche in the retail marketplace. We pride ourselves in being the dominant teen retailer that specializes in the buying and selling of brand name product for the teen and twenty-somethings. Because of that, we continue to maintain a distinct niche in the industry.

    POSITION PURPOSE:

    To help promote all aspects of the business including but not limited to selling, pricing, and merchandising. Promote a high level of customer service by ensuring customers are assisted in an enthusiastic, timely, and knowledgeable manner. Assist store management in daily store operations.

    MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

    • Exhibit appropriate selling and buying behaviors. Greet customers immediately, determine their needs, and handle all transactions in a professional and enthusiastic manner.
    • Become familiar with products, brands, and prices and make recommendations of products, including their features and benefits, to suit customers’ needs. Maximize sales and customer satisfaction by adding items to the close of the sale.
    • Buy used products, reinforcing the customers’ purchases and sales to the store. Invite customers to return to the store to buy, sell, or trade and promote the image of the store concept.
    • Price and ticket items based on pricing and buying guidelines. Restock store following merchandising plan. Maintain store displays and follow store housekeeping and maintenance standards and procedures.
    • Develop proficiency in operating computerized Point of Sale (POS) and sales tracking system for all sales transactions, buys, returns, etc.
    • Achieve personal and store sales goals by applying sound customer service and sales protocol.

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES (PRIORITIES):

    • G.I.F.T. Program and Overall Customer Service
    • Servicing Fitting Rooms: Getting Customers In AND Out Of Fitting Rooms, Customer Go Backs, and Checking/Cleaning Out (After EACH Customer)
    • Ringing: When there are more than 2 customers waiting to be checked out. After the customers have been helped, you should resume tasks you were doing before called up to ring.
    • Cleaning up sensors, hangers, etc. After each customer you check out at the registe
    • Replenishing racks new and used inventory
    • Maintaining shopability and visual presentation of the sales floor
    • Customer Holds - Making sure every customer is being offered a bin to hold merchandise (behind the counter) while they shop or until they would like a fitting room.
    • Running the Rack
    • Customers are led to product - No Pointing!

    REQUIRED:

    • Prior retail experience preferred in similar product lines, but willing to train the right candidate.
    • Proven customer service skills.
    • Ability to work well as a team member, accept constructive feedback, and follow directions.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Sales and goal driven.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    1. Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, up to 8 hours a day.
    2. Lifting up to 40 lbs. without assistance. May involve heavier lifting with assistance of a team member or cart/dolly.
    3. Bending, rotating, and reaching customary to a retail environment; including receiving, pricing, and stocking/back stocking merchandise.
    4. Exposure to typical retail environment conditions and noise levels.
    5. Able to operate a computerized sales terminal.
