    ModernHR is an established and growing Professional Employer Organization (PEO) located in Burbank, Ca. Currently, we have a need for the following stellar professional(s) at one of our client sites located in Woodland Hills, Ca.

    Summary: Responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and working closely with the HR team and management. Handles day-to-day activities including, but not limited to, the management and administration leaves of absence, workers’ compensation, policies, procedures, employee relations, training, onboarding, offboarding, and implementation of processes.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Performs as first point of contact regarding human resources activities, i.e., implementing and explaining policies and procedures; consulting and advising on compliance, documentation, disciplinary actions, etc.; evaluates and takes action when issues need to be elevated up through hierarchy.
    •  Coordinates day-to-day human resources activities and works with Client Services Directors, Administrators, Program Managers, and employees to ensure the appropriate outcome for involved parties.
    •  Administers leave of absence and workers’ compensation.
    • Acts as liaison with various medical facilities and fosters effective relationships with vendors and third party administrator.
    • Handles workers’ comp claims to ensure prompt, equitable, courteous resolution; Maintains contact in person, and by phone or mail, with medical facilities, third party administrator, employees, and managers.
    • Acts as resource for HR contacts to ensure their understanding and compliance with HR policies and regulations; keeps HR Manager and Chief HR Officer advised of potential problem areas and recommends/implements solutions as appropriate.
    • Develops working relationships with management and administrators, as well as employees at the corporate office and various company locations.
    • Participates in developing goals, objectives, and systems in designated geographic regions.
    • Serves as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering policies, procedures, practices, and helping resolve work-related challenges
    • Acts in a consulting capacity to Directors, Administrators, and Managers on employee relation issues.
    • Advises, reviews, composes, and revises written disciplinary warnings and/or termination paperwork.
    • Performs difficult staffing duties including, dealing with understaffing, handling complaints, arbitrating disputes, resolving grievances, and administering disciplinary procedures, and terminating employees.
    • Travels to various locations when required to manage employee issues, investigations, interviews, and other human resources related concerns.
    • Represents company at personnel-related investigations and hearings.
    • Provides current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and opportunities for promotion
    • Identifies and determines causes of personnel problems and develops recommendations for improvement of company’s personnel policies and practices.
    • Conducts exit interviews to identify reasons for employee termination.
    • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
    • Participates in administrative staff meetings, HR department meetings, and attends other meetings and seminars as requested.
    • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
    • Contributes to team, department, and company goals by volunteering for new assignments, making useful suggestions, implementing new solutions, learning new skills, and performing tasks well.
    • Learns to operate new office technologies as they are developed and/or implemented.
    • Ensures all tasks are prioritized and performed with a sense of urgency.
    •  Performs other duties as assigned to meet department and/or business needs.

    EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field of study is preferred. A minimum of three (3) progressive years of Human Resources work experience is required. Human Resources certification(s) preferred, but not required. BILINGUAL ENGLISH/SPANISH IS REQUIRED. Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.
