    ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST

    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    Responsible for preparing and processing invoices for payment, maintaining the accounts payable records and producing accounts payable reports. Responsible for maintenance of various departmental projects, providing administrative support as needed. Other duties as assigned by Accounting Manager and Chief Finance Officer.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • ·         Accurately review, code, and process vendor invoices
    • ·         Distribute invoices for departmental approval and account coding
    • ·         Perform monthly reconciliations
    • ·         Maintain various vendor accounts while staying in compliance with company policies and procedures
    • ·         Perform data entry associated with accounts payable
    • ·         Review and reconcile invoice discrepancies
    • ·         Audit and process credit card statements
    • ·         Address and respond to vendor inquiries
    • ·         Maintains and works to improve professional relationships with all vendors
    • ·         Perform general clerical duties including but not limited to filing, photocopying, faxing, typing, and mailing
    • ·         Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential
    • ·         Periodically review AP procedures and develop/revise as appropriate

    QUALIFICATIONS FOR ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST:

    • ·         2-3 years’ experience with accounts payable or general accounting
    • ·         Quickbooks experience is preferred
    • ·         Proficient Microsoft Office knowledge and skills
    • ·         Strong time management and organizational skills
    • ·         Knowledge of basic accounting principles
    • ·         High degree of attention to detail
    • ·         Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
    • ·         Strong analytic abilities
    • ·         Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills required.
    • ·         Ability to multi-task, and see projects through to completion
    • ·         Versatility, schedule flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities and occasional changing            schedules with enthusiasm
