    PAYROLL ASSISTANT

    This position provides support to the Payroll Department in numerous ways. The person in this position must be able to multi task, must work well under pressure and deadlines, must maintain high levels of confidentiality and must be able to work as part of a team, as well with minimal supervision. Excellent verbal and written expression, attention to detail and proficiency in the Microsoft Suite and the internet are a must. Working knowledge of any payroll processing software is a plus.

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Correct packaging of payroll(s) and payroll inserts
    • Ensure that all client payroll audit sheets are complete prior to mailing payroll checks and reports
    • Verify the total number of checks processed and accounted for prior to distribution to client
    • Ensure all required client reports are include with payroll checks/packages
    • Assist with finalizing payrolls by balancing payroll hours worksheet and payroll calculations
    • Accurately enters all payroll related data necessary for payroll representatives to process client payroll; ex new hires, and employee information changes/updates
    • Administrative duties as requested, or necessary, filing, daily mail distribution, photocopying, etc.
    • Maintain client and department files
    • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with clients and coworkers to promote a quality service
    • Other duties assigned
