JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Accountant role provides an opportunity for growth and development. To be successful in this role, you should possess the ability to conduct a wide variety of intricate and complex accounting duties and projects. An ideal candidate should be savvy in Microsoft 365 products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook Email, as well as ERP systems. Must have excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal skills, and the ability to create and maintain a team-oriented environment. Primary duties will be to ensure the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and maintenance of accounting records in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policy.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements.
Maintain accounting records in accordance with regulatory and company policy.
Prepare month end closing calculations.
Analyzes financial statement for variances to plan journal entries.
Prepare monthly financial statement package and commentary.
Perform general ledger balance sheet reconciliations, verify accuracy of data.
Provision of information for annual audits.
Facilitate filing of tax returns.
Ensure compliance with economic nexus statutes.
Participate in annual budgeting and forecasting process.
Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
Perform other financial projects and related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Work Experience:
5+ years of senior level accounting experience preferably in the manufacturing or construction industry.
Education:
BS/BA in Accounting
CPA Certification preferred.
Master’s degree preferred.
Related Experience:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with a focus on accuracy and precision.
Extensive Knowledge of general and cost accounting functions, treasure management, and fixed assets.
Understanding of and the ability to adhere to accepted accounting principles.
Ability to correctly prepare sales tax returns for multiple states/localities.
Knowledge of economic Nexus statutes and procurement.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This role primarily works in an office environment. From time-to-time you may participate in activities on the shop floor. In the production environment, the noise level is typical for a fabrication shop and ear plugs may be used, as necessary.
