Mohawk Ambulance is looking for a full time Accounting Assistant to support our financial team! The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Processing accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Performing day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data
- Preparing bills, invoices and bank deposits
- Checking spreadsheets for accuracy
- Reconciling invoices and identifying discrepancies
- Issuing invoices to customers and external parties as needed
- Creating and updating expense forms
- Processing reimbursement forms
- Preparing bank statements
- Entering financial transactions into internal databases
- Maintaining digital and physical financial records
- Assisting the finance department in running smoothly and ensuring transparency & efficiency in all transactions
Requirements:
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related is preferred.
- Work experience as an Accounting Assistant or similar required, including experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks, Outlook, and Excel.
- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures preferred.
- Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors.
- Exceptional organization skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.
- Excellent computer skills.
