    What we are looking for

    Are you passionate about ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of inventory management? We're seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Cost and Inventory Accountant to join our team, responsible for overseeing and managing the costs involving the company's inventory operations. In this role, you'll be crucial in maintaining precise inventory records, optimizing procedures, monitoring transactions, updating general ledgers, conducting audits, analyzing data, and producing regular reports.     What you will do:

    Verify, manage, and accurately file all inventory paperwork.

    Develop collaborative relationships with operations management to facilitate effective communication during weekly inventory counts.

    Manage new inventory items, including item mapping, recipes, and unit measurements.

    Review and record inventory transfers between retail and restaurant locations.

    Analyze weekly inventory for discrepancies, shortages, or adjustments, providing final approval.

    Conduct periodic store-level inventory audits to identify process issues.

    Devise strategies to optimize inventory control procedures.

    Generate reports for upper management on inventory levels, item activity, and cost percentages.

    Review and analyze cost and cost percentages at each period close.

    Streamline new item detail and recipe management across locations under the oversight of the Controller.

    Contribute to job-specific projects to achieve organizational goals.

    Serve as backup to Accounts Payable for all inventory-related invoices and assist the accounting clerk with restaurant daily tasks.

    Organizational Alignment This position reports to the Controller

    Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

    Bachelor’s degree in general accounting or finance, or relevant experience in place of formal education.

    At least 3 years prior experience in a similar role, managing cost and inventory.

    Experience working in the restaurant industry is highly preferred.

    Prior experience reading, interpreting, and explaining sales and inventory reports.

    Proficiency in MS Excel and R365 is highly desired.

    Excellent data analytics, interpretation, and reporting capabilities.

    Meticulously detail-oriented with a keen eye for accuracy.

    Effective and collaborative team player with demonstrated leadership capabilities, able to work both independently and in a team environment.

    Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of interacting with individuals at all levels of the organization.

    Excellent project management, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities.

    Physical Demands and Working Environment

    This role is based on-site at our offices in Gruene, Texas.

    You'll work in a small office environment, involving frequent sitting, standing, and walking.

    The schedule is Monday through Friday, with an early start on Mondays for inventory process review and early departure on Fridays.

    Your time will be divided between the office, restaurant, and retail locations, requiring mobility and the ability to commute to various locations as needed.
