    MOMENTUM is hiring a CAREGIVER/DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP) to support disabled individuals with daily living needs in a group home residential setting. As a Caregiver/DSP, you will support people with their physical, emotional, and social needs by focusing on the person first. Our Caregiver/DSPs have the unique opportunity to build a rewarding career in healthcare and to develop caring relationships.

    STARTING RATE OF PAY: $15.50 PER HOUR + $500 SIGN ON BONUS!*

    SCHEDULES AVAILABLE -  3:00 PM TO 11:30 PM, FRIDAY THROUGH MONDAY  2:00 PM TO 10:30 PM, SUNDAYS AND MONDAYS  11:00 PM TO 7:00 AM, FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS  PART-TIME AND FULL-TIME POSITIONS AVAILABLE

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Assists and trains persons supported in all independent living skills including: meal preparation, meal clean-up, bed making, laundry, dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and other cleaning tasks
    • Passes medication, as assigned, per RN medication administration training
    • Maintains and promotes a friendly, comfortable, safe environment where people may progress socially, emotionally, and physically
    • Follows, observes, and reports on Individual Program Plan (IPP)
    • Respects and promotes the rights of individuals 
    • Provides direct support and other related duties as assigned by supervisor(s) and/or nursing staff
    • Assists people when scheduled on doctor's appointments and/or community events
    • Follows and implements company policies
    • Drives in company vehicles to appointments and community destinations, as assigned
    • Attends required in-service trainings
    • Performs other duties as assigned to meet department and/or business needs

    DSP QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • Must have current First Aid and CPR Certificate
    • Current Direct Support Professional I (DSP I) certification; preferred, not required 
    • High School Diploma or equivalent; required
    • Experience working with developmentally disabled individuals; preferred 
    • Read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English well enough to perform essential duties and responsibilities
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Communicate and work professionally and cooperatively with others
    • Successfully pass all post offer, pre-employment screening requirements, including criminal background check, drug screening, health screening, TB screening and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
    • Ability to run, push, pull, bend, squat, kneel, and lift up to fifty (50) pounds
    • Must have valid and current proof of legal right to drive in California

     

    *Sign on Bonus will be paid in two payments. First payment will be made after 90 days of employment and second payment will be made after 6 months of employment.
