OVERVIEW
The Human Resources Manager (HRM) is responsible for leading a team to manage HR processes and programs such as employee onboarding and offboarding, employee relations, leave and benefits administration, employee records management, and performance management. The HRM must be highly organized, have excellent communication skills, and be able to continuously draw upon experience in and knowledge of Human Resources concepts, practices, and procedures in order to lead the day-to-day operations of the HR function to support the company’s goals. The HRM is responsible for hiring, developing, and managing an HR team and for exercising sound judgement and taking decisive action in a high-volume, sometimes ambiguous, and oftentimes high-pressure environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage HR operations to ensure employee inquiries are answered and issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Provide HR consultation and policy interpretation to managers and HR team members related to employee relations matters.
- Exercise sound, independent judgement to make recommendations and decisions regarding employment such as hiring, discipline, and/or termination.
- Manage performance against HR team member expectations and KPIs.
- Analyze business needs, make recommendations, and implement solutions to improve HR programs, processes, and policies.
- Serve as point of contact for escalated employee issues and inquiries.
- Implement updates to HR processes based on regulatory changes and policy updates.
- Liaise with CoAdvantage as needed for benefits, payroll, worker’s compensation and leave administration matters.
- Assist with HR projects and initiatives as needed.
- Work well as part of a team by exhibiting objectivity and being open-minded toward the ideas and views of others, giving as well as welcoming feedback, contributing to building team spirit, and helping others to succeed.
- Maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance, consistent with the ADA, FMLA, other federal, state, and local standards and company attendance policies and procedures.
- Comply with all personnel policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Four or more years of multi-state generalist experience in Human Resources or equivalent combination of experience and HR education and/or certification.
- Previous experience managing an HR team, preferably a distributed team.
- Excellent problem-solving, deductive thinking, and analytical reasoning skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to create and maintain strong relationships at all levels within an organization.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, HR systems, and related software.
- Advanced knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations with regard to employment matters.
- Ability to maintain high level of resourcefulness, self-motivation, and self-direction.
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of discretion in working with sensitive information.
- Emotionally intelligent with ability to recognize signals of a disgruntled employee and respond calmly with professionalism and tact.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to and respond well to challenges in a fast-paced, dynamic, and ambiguous environment.
