    Do you have a passion for working with adults with disabilities and support them in becoming active, productive members of their local workforce? Do you enjoy working outside at the Santa Barbara Harbor? Under the direction of the Director of Program Services, the GSE Coordinator is responsible for the administration and management of Group Supported Employment programs which provide employment opportunities in the community. In addition, this position provides supervision and training to staff assigned to the supported employment groups while ensuring individualized programming for workers assigned to supported employment groups, such as our Santa Barbara Harbor Crew.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    · Responsible for interviewing, hiring and evaluation of all program staff

    · Develops group supported employment opportunities in the community by following up with potential employers/business contacts

    · Coordinates worker and staff schedules consistent with the demand for supported employment groups based on customer need

    · Responsible for providing skill or developmental training in an area of specific activities as designated

    · Performs task analysis of all jobs on contract and work sites

    · Evaluates workers to establish productivity rating and submits worker timecards filled out accurately in accordance with Agency policy

    · Responsible for monthly program billing and submittal to Director of Program Services

    · Develops and implements task analysis-based training programs with emphasis on having individuals complete a total job to their maximum independent ability

    · Meets with the individuals we serve (and/or designates staff) to complete required paperwork; completes all review documentation

    · Attends and participates in in-service training, staff meetings and other activities to facilitate professional development

    · Conducts quality assessments of GES work sites

    · Coordinate with Waterfront Dept and Harbor Maintenance to ensure satisfaction

    · During absence, ensure that all responsibilities are delegated accordingly.

    · Ensures completion of requirements for program participant payroll

    · Assists in compliance with Agency policies/procedures, OSHA and CARF standards

    · Assumes other duties, responsibilities and special projects as needed

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School diploma or equivalent required
    • Knowledge of various job settings and vocational requirements
    • At least 2 years of experience working with developmentally disabled people; at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity.
    • Demonstrated ability to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and employee relations. 
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to complete tasks with numerous interruptions.
    • Ability to work with little direct supervision.
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (esp. Word, Excel, Outlook)
    • Compassion and respect for persons with disabilities
    • May need to be available during disasters, per disaster plan.
    • Must have reliable phone.
    • Valid CA Driver's License
