  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    • Contacts broker/dealers to identify fixed income securities.
    • Executes fixed income trades.
    • Analyzes fixed income securities, taking into consideration multiple sources of information including industry and market research, historical data and projected financial statements.
    • Identifies appropriate opportunities for client portfolios.
    • Interact with internal teams, 3rd party service providers, and counterparties to oversee the full life cycle of fixed income trading.
    • Assist in portfolio management of fixed income accounts and recommend trades.
    • Review and support the reconciliation process provided by third party partners between Internal system, custodians, prime brokers, and trading system
    • Serve as liaison to third party technology, data, and service providers related to fixed income.
    • Prepare portfolio and manager-level reports; analyze portfolio results including holdings, returns, exposures, etc.
    • Back up Senior Portfolio Manager when necessary.
    • Assist with projects supporting the development and integration of equity and fixed income business lines; including gathering business requirements, preparing project documentation, and assisting with the creation and implementation of procedures, workflows, and controls.

     

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

     

    • Bachelor’s degree required, Accounting or Finance preferred
    • 3+ years investment management preferably within an asset manager, trading desk or registered investment advisor
    • Strong knowledge of fixed income, settlement, and administration processes.
    • Knowledge of trade life cycle, accounting, and fund administration concepts
    • Experience with performance and risk concepts
    • Series 65 license or ability to achieve in the first 3 months of employment
    • Demonstrated research, analytical and problem-solving skills; as well as critical thinking with the ability to identify and escalate issues
    • Self-starter with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and ability to prioritize daily work
    • Copes with changes and uncertainty; team player; able to see what needs to be done and contribute
    • Familiar with project management fundamentals, excellent organizational and communication skills, confident verbal and interpersonal approach
    • Collaborates effectively with internal and external partners, displays a diplomatic approach to business conflict
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; strong Excel skills required
    • Experience with Bloomberg, Morningstar, Orion and Eclipse strongly desired.
    •  Familiar in dealing with custodians Schwab, Fidelity and TD Ameritrade desired.
