    We are seeking Mongolian Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Mongolian, spoken in Mongolia and parts of northern China, is a rare but critical Central Asian language often needed in asylum and immigration proceedings.

    Responsibilities

    Provide real-time Mongolian ↔ English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and asylum cases.

    Interpret accurately, impartially, and with professionalism in immigration and legal contexts.

    Maintain strict confidentiality under USCIS/DHS interpreter standards.

    Support both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge interpretation needs.

    Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance audits.

    Qualifications

    Native or near-native fluency in Mongolian and English.

    2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, asylum, community, legal, or government strongly preferred).

    Strong knowledge of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and impartiality standards.

    Cultural understanding of Mongolian-speaking communities.

    Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 federal clearance.
