What does the E-commerce Merchandising Assistant do?

The E-commerce Merchandising Assistant is responsible for managing + maintaining our product catalog and optimizing our direct-to-consumer website. The responsibilities involve working with internal cross-functional partners to drive business results and make sure our customers find the right product at the right time across their shopping journey.

Job Responsibilities

Product Creation

• Manage product creation and integration via the e-commerce platform (Shopify) and inventory management system
• Maintain and update product titles, product copy, and URLs
• Maintain product tags in Shopify, coordinating product attributes with Merchandising team
• Onboard new partner products for marketplace + dropship business

Product Imagery & Site Content

• Partner with Creative/Merch teams on shot list and samples ahead of scheduled on-model shoots
• Coordinate with imagery vendor on collecting and compiling both single product and bundle web assets ahead of launch
• Upload and tag imagery according to season and print
• Resize and crop imagery to adhere to Shopify formatting
• Ensure all alt text is tagged according to print
• Maintain up-to-date site content across all categories

Site Audit + Customer Journey

• Maintain collection pages and update destination links throughout the site to ensure customers are navigating to the correct landing page
• Ensure all products are shoppable and exposed in the correct landing page
• Audit the website daily to ensure there are no friction points, broken hyperlinks, or technical issues

Reporting

• Pull sales reports for each location using Shopify analytics and generate location-specific sales reports
• Pull inventory reports for each location using BrightPearl and compile the data into a spreadsheet for replenishment analysis
• Analyze sell-through data and past collections to update merchandising guides

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in e-commerce merchandising or related role
• Possess strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to develop a deep understanding of the market landscape, as well as the specific needs and opportunities for our current and future trading partners
• Detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work cross-functionally to drive results and execution
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Google Suite, Back-office tools and systems - Shopify, BrighPearl a plus
• Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities
