    Monica + Andy is looking for an experienced, creative and analytical Head of Technology to join our team. As Head of Technology, you will be the owner of the overall strategy and execution of our technology efforts. You will lead cross-functional teams of peers and external partners to maximize revenue, customer experience and internal productivity through the use of technology. 

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead the strategy for technology platforms, partnerships and external relationships
    • Work closely with Product Management, Marketing, Business Development and Operations to define our technology / product roadmap and ensure it balances feature development with long term scaling.
    • Suggest new features or technical improvements that could be implemented in the system
    • Set the vision, define the plan, and create a roadmap for our technical infrastructure across all systems 
    • Oversee the architecture and design of all of our technical systems, including the maintenance of all architectural components and standards
    • Manage internal and external staff to deliver on the technology roadmap
    • Represent the technological agenda in staff meetings and when making hiring decisions
    • Identify, compare, select and implement technology solutions to meet current and future needs
    • Develop, track and control the development of annual operating and capital budgets for purchasing, staffing and operations
    • Manage and optimize infrastructure assets to satisfy internal financial targets
    • Create overall technology standards and practices and ensure adherence
    • Perform peer code reviews
    • Consolidate our technology platforms and create plans for each
    • Track, analyze and monitor technology performance metrics
    • Keep abreast of new trends and best practices in the technology landscape
    • Take the initiative in thought leadership, innovation and creativity
    • Design (and code) new features, participate in testing, bug fixing, and technical debt fixing

     QUALIFICATIONS

    The Head of Technology will be dedicated to the growth of Monica + Andy’s e-commerce business, primarily focused on the website and back office systems that power the business. The ideal candidate has:

    • 10+ years of ecommerce development experience
    • Experience leading and managing both in-house and off-shore development teams
    • Experience working for a digitally native brand
    • Experience with both back-end and front-end development
    • Deep knowledge of Shopify a plus
    • Able to jump in and code in a pinch
    • BS in Computer Science or similar relevant field
    • Hands on experience with complex project management
    • An analytical mindset – understands that testing every assumption is vital to success, but accurately measuring and interpreting the results is just as important
    • Strong communication skills – able to effectively communicate performance, learnings and ideas to team members at every level of the organization
    • Leadership ability - Gets the most out of their team. Influences key decisions through data-backed insights and engaging team members to execute upon strategies
    • Curiosity and willingness to try new things, work in a fast-paced environment, and never settle for the status quo
