Who We Are Monoceros Biosystems is a rapidly growing bioinformatics service provider to small and established drug discovery companies, as well as biotechnology investment firms. To support our explosive growth, we are looking for strong bioinformatics/computational biology programmers and scientists to join our team of seasoned drug hunters. Responsibilities: Job DescriptionDo you have a passion for using big data to advance human health and enjoy solving complex problems alongside diverse clients? We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Bioinformatics Scientist to join our growing team at Monoceros Biosystems. We partner with many small to midsize BioTech to accelerate drug discovery and development through innovative bioinformatic solutions. In this role, you will play a vital role in analyzing and interpreting next-generation sequencing (NGS) data, contributing to the success of our client projects from initial data exploration to actionable insights. We tackle client projects ranging from target identification through regulatory agency interactions and help them meet their internal demands and move their products and ideas forward. Candidates must have a proven track record of successfully managing and completing projects on their own, showcasing their ability to work independently while still contributing to the team's overall objectives. Qualifications: Required • Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field with a strong biological background. • A strong desire to contribute to improving human health through innovative bioinformatic solutions. • Proficient in R and Python with experience in scientific computing libraries (e.g., Bioconductor, Scikit-learn). • Solid understanding of NGS technologies. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, client-oriented environment. • Good productivity, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work autonomously to finish tasks on time. • A proactive approach to identifying needs, proposing solutions, setting realistic deadlines, and adjusting workload based on shifting priorities. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to learn independently, troubleshoot issues, identify solutions, and implement changes. Preferred • 1 -5 years of previous industry experience, with a focus on large-scale data analysis. • Consulting experience in the biopharma industry or a strong understanding of the drug discovery and development process is highly desirable. • Internally driven to stay informed about industry trends and technologies that can contribute to breakthroughs and project success. • A proven track record of success analyzing Next Generation Sequencing Data from various ‘omic types and running/maintaining bioinformatic workflows. Desired • Experience presenting bioinformatics solutions to drug development audiences. • Relevant experience in project management, time management tools, and methodologies that support autonomous work is highly desirable. • Advanced knowledge of statistics. Compensation: $95,000 - $125,000 yearly
