Mid/Senior Look Development Artist
Monolith Virtual Production is looking for a Mid/Senior level Look Development Artist to join our growing ranks. This position is mainly responsible for creating the materials, textures, and geometric instances that define the look of environments, sets, and props for use in Virtual Production.
Responsibilities:
Deliver final High Quality CG Assets for use in Virtual Production
Complete an Asset through the Look Development process
Tailor development of Assets per their usage
Work under the Supervision of the Asset Lead
Assist Junior Asset Artists as needed
Help to draft best practices and SOP’s
Troubleshoot technical and creative problems
Requirements:
4-7 years + experience in Asset creation for high-end VFX/Animation
Expected to be versed in Look Dev/Texturing (modeling skills are a plus)
Thorough knowledge of Shaders/Materials
Efficient with Lighting in Arnold
Thorough knowledge of Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter, Mari, Advanced Photoshop
Excellent knowledge of the 3D pipeline and workflow
Understanding Clean Topology and Retopologizing, Unwrap and UV layout
Experience with Lidar scanning equipment/working with scan data, a plus
Experience with HDRI Capture and creation, a plus
Experience with Unreal, Houdini, Substnace Designer, Speedtree, a plus
Knowledge of Photogrammetry, a plus
Experience on film sets, a plus
Should be flexible and responsive according to creative needs and feedback
Problem solver, enthusiast towards working with new technology
West Coast candidates preferred.
Must have valid US work authorization.
