    Job Description

    The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for providing support to the field on HR and Employee Relations topics; to include triage and resolution of various employment related concerns.  This role will support the HRBPs with the intent of exposing the incumbent to an array of real-world HR functions and increase familiarity with employer responsibilities and compliance within Monro.  Ultimately, this role aims to develop an incumbent into a HRBP backup.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist teammates with email and telephone inquiries in a timely manner
    • Take ownership to see an inquiry through to resolution, partnering when needed
    • Conduct research as needed on employee issues
    • Process rehire /reinstatement requests
    • Assist with disciplinary documentation for the field
    • Assist with training compliance and facilitation for the field
    • Escalate critical / sensitive matters to HRBP and/or CHRO
    • Assist with resolving payroll issues
    • Assist with resolving benefits issues
    • Ensure that all pertinent documentation is electronically filed in appropriate folder
    • Assist HRBP with investigations, as needed
    • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field of study, plus 1 year of work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
    • Proficient using all Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Strong customer service skills
    • HRCI / SHRM Certification preferred

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities; excellent time management and organizational skills; tact and diplomacy; ability to find the root-cause and proactively identify potential solutions
    • Familiarity with HRIS administration and/or database management software
    • Must be detail oriented and able to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to approach situations with an investigative mind
    • Ability to review, handle and resolve matters in a confidential and professional manner
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
