    JOB TITLE: Help Desk Dispatch, Work-Study

     

    DEPARTMENT: Information Technology Services

     

    PAY RATE: $12.85 per hour 

     

    NUMBER OF OPENINGS: 2

     

     

    Spring Semester 2020

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      

    • Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone.
    • Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers.
    • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel.
    • Provide accurate information on IT products or services.
    • Record events and problems and their resolution in logs.
    • Follow-up and update customer status and information.
    • Pass on any feedback or suggestions by customers to the appropriate internal team.
    • Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures.

      

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

     

    • Must be a current student of the Community College of Denver, taking at least six hours of credit and awarded work-study funds.
    • Some computer experience/classes preferred.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Excellent customer service.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

     

     

    • Some computer experience/classes preferred.

     

      

    TIME COMMITMENT

     

    Up to 20 hours a week (may not exceed 20 hours per week)

  • Qualifications

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree and/or 3 years of experience in homeless services. preferred. Lived experience of housing insecurity or teen parenting strongly preferred.

    • Experience working with pregnant and parenting young adults required.

    • Knowledge of housing requirements, range of services available and community resources preferred.

    • Ability to structure and organize job responsibilities independently

    • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills including attention to detail and problem-solving skills and experience in casework documentation.  writing abilities

    • Strong interpersonal skills, confident, team player, ability to exercise good judgment and to interact with a wide variety of people.

    • Commitment to racial equity and inclusive practices.

    LEADERSHIP, TEAM MANAGEMENT, AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

    • Seeks and uses management staff for training and supervision.
    • Seeks and attends community trainings to strengthen skills and knowledge
    • Attends Agency, Department, and Program required meetings and trainings, as well as trainings required by funder.
