Job Description
Northstar Montessori teachers are guides, helping to direct the children’s academic, emotional, and physical development in a prepared, peaceful Montessori environment that challenges each child to reach their fullest potential. The Float Teacher works in the preschool classrooms (Infant, Toddler, Primary) as assigned, helping the Lead and Assistant Teachers to operate, and maintain the classroom with the order and neatness characteristic of the Montessori environment. The Float Teacher aids in the implementation of the daily schedule and routine, assisting with activities, developing nurturing relationships, and ensuring the safety, security, and supervision of students.
Float Teacher applicants must have a High School Diploma or equivalent, have a clear background check when fingerprinted, and enjoy working with children. Experience caring for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years old, and familiarity with Montessori principles is helpful, but not required--we are willing to train the right applicant.
