Primary Class Montessori Teacher
Montessori Reggio Academy is hiring a qualified full time or Montessori Certified Primary Class Teacher. Prestigious Montessori private school in Sugar Land area is looking for an enthusiastic Full-Time Teacher to join our amazing team. Must have a love for children and passion for education. Experience in Montessori Method teaching and certification is required. Ages 3-6, Private Kindergarten. Responsibilities: • Montessori teaching certified. (Primary) • Plan and implement the Montessori curriculum. Give appropriate presentations and establish a record keeping system to track the children’s progress. • Good interpersonal skills are necessary. • The teacher should have the ability to work not only with children but with parents and other staff members as well. • A positive and open attitude toward all children is a requirement • Technology skills • Great communication skills • Must have an Associate degree or Higher Education in Early Childhood, Childcare Administration or similar • 2 years of Montessori experience as a lead teacher. • Montessori certification required AMS/AMI/NAMC • Must be able to sit on the floor and lift a minimum of 35 pounds. • Should have current CPR / First Aid training completed. • 24 hours of Pre-Service Training. • Understanding of Texas Minimum Standards Qualifications: • Responsible for preparation of the classroom environment, materials and equipment; ensures that all materials are in good repair and all sets complete. Develops and makes materials when needed. • Plan and implement the Montessori curriculum. Give appropriate presentations and establish a record keeping system to track the children’s progress. • Supervise the classroom assistant, aide, interns, substitutes, and parent volunteers. Provide necessary instruction and training for those assisting in the classroom environment. • Ability to teach in a manner consistent with Montessori philosophy and goals, and plan activities that will encourage each child’s growth in the areas of emotional, social, cognitive, and physical development. • Maintaining a weekly parent newsletter and daily reporting /logs. • Being aware and executing Montessori lessons in chronological order, delivering lessons with the aim of promoting coordination, concentration, and independence. • Plan and conduct parent-teacher conferences, maintain child development records. • Must attend all staff meetings and programs sponsored by the school. • Responsible and maintain safe learning environment in the class. • Maintaining strict confidentiality regarding children and their families. • Share information and materials appropriately with other Center staff members and maintain the records that are required by center policy. • Maintain proper staff-child ratio at all times • Promote good communication among staff members. • Dependable -- more reliable than spontaneous • People-oriented -- enjoys interacting with people and working on group projects • Adaptable/flexible -- enjoys doing work that requires frequent shifts in direction Compensation: $14 - $20 hourly
