    General Statement of Duties:This position is responsible for assisting in the preventive, regular, and urgent maintenance of all MRD indoor facilities. This position will assist with preserving the excellent condition and functionality of our business premises. This is accomplished through the upkeep and preparation of indoor facilities for recreation programs and activities. This includes the Community Recreation Center (CRC), Field House (FH), and several ancillary facilities (concessions, restrooms and storage).

    Supervision Received: Reports directly to the facilities Maintenance Supervisor.

    Supervision Exercised: Directly supervises community service volunteers

    Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:

    Inspects buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues.

    Repairs faulty equipment units and damaged structures.

    Develops and implement preventative maintenance procedures.

    Manages heating and plumbing systems to guarantee functionality.

    Plans and schedules repairs.

    Conducts periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard.

    Performs general maintenance tasks including landscaping, painting, and carpentry.

    Help developing and implementing the budget for the maintenance department.

    Maintains the inventory records for equipment and supplies.

    Provides training to community service workers.

    Assists in picking up litter around the facilities, emptying trash receptacles, cleaning restrooms, and fixing or replacing damaged facility items.

    Aides in leading the completion of the annual maintenance opening and closure projects and tasks.

    Maintains and cares for company provided equipment, tools and vehicles.

    Performs snow removal as needed and directed.

    Position Qualifications:

    Effective problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a self-starter with ability to do job with little direction from their supervisor.

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Must be well-organized and have the ability to prioritize tasks.

    Able to work physically near other people when working on equipment or in tight spaces with others.

    Experience:

    A minimum of two (2) years facilities maintenance or a similar role experience required.

    In-depth knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and hydronic systems.

    Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques

    Education or Training: Equivalent to a High School Diploma or GED.

    License and Certification: Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant fields is preferred. Work Environment: The majority of time is spent working in an indoor recreational facility setting with outdoor recreational facility exposure. Will be required to work in all weather conditions and in close proximity to chemicals used in an aquatic and facilities environment. Occasionally exposure to wet or humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals with proper personal protective equipment. Vehicle and Cellphone: MRD will furnish a work vehicle during work hours. MRD requires the employee to have a cell phone and will reimburse the employee a portion of the monthly service cost. Work Hours: This position is required to perform on-call during services during weekends on a rotational basis. Work hours have seasonal variations with evening, weekend, and holiday hours. Physical Conditions: The examples below describe the physical aspects of the position that must be met to carry out the essential duties of the job.

    Exert 5 to 100 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move equipment or objects.

    Perceive the nature of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, providing oral information, the manual dexterity to operate equipment and use hand tools.

    Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps.

    Walk or stand for extended periods.

    Handle and work with various materials and chemicals.

    Handle highly physical work outdoors on a consistent basis in all weather conditions, specifically very cold, icy, snowy weather.
