    Job Description

     MOORE INDUSTRIES, INT. is an engineering and OEM manufacture of electronic instrumentation used in the process monitoring and control industries. We are seeking a highly motivated buyer to join our team. This position requires a qualified professional with a proven track record for assessing commodity requirements, sourcing electronic parts, and managing vendors for materials and services. The right candidate will be coordinating purchasing activities with manufacturing and other departments within the company to acquire inventory in a cost-effective and timely manner.   

    GENERAL:        Under moderate supervision, purchases materials or other goods and/or coordinates activities involved with procuring products and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, and supplies. This is a mid-level position to be performed with limited assistance; position requires a good work ethic and sound judgment to perform a broad range of tasks.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    *Place purchase orders for catalog item supplies, raw materials, components, and services necessary for the operations of the organization. *Electronically submit drawings and documentation to suppliers when necessary. *Checks purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy. *Obtain quotes and recommends new suppliers. *Expedites delinquent and long lead-time orders as necessary. *Input, review, and submit purchase orders for assigned commodities and approved requisitions. *Works with Quality Control and supervisors to resolve rejections and other quality problems. *Meet and follow Company Corporate Quality Systems. *All other assigned and essential duties as required.

    QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    *2-4 years related college degree, vocational training, or equivalent. *Minimum 3 to 5 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment. *Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to multi-task. *Ability to read, write, and communicate well in English; both internally and with external suppliers. *Ability to read and interpret formal quotes, purchase orders, list of materials, and order acknowledgments. *Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, inventory, and manufacturing software. *Recent training and hands-on experience with ISO standards. *Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance required.
