    Job Summary

    A busy OBGYN practice located in Prince Georges County Maryland is in search of a Medical Assistant / Patient Care Technician. The candidate must be team-oriented, friendly, and have excellent customer service skills.

    Knowledge of EMDs EHR Practice Management Software is a plus.

    GENERAL SUMMARY:

    The Medical Assistant / Patient Care Technician acts as a liaison between patients and the healthcare providers.

    This job focuses on assisting medical professionals with a wide range of duties including patient care, intake, and interaction with patients. Areas of work include screening patients for eligibility for specific tests and services, preparing patients for examination and treatment, transporting patients to and from the examination room, and documenting information related to patient care. This position requires the individual to be a good communicator and well-organized.

    Responsibilities:

    Acknowledge the role of the physician in patient care.

    Demonstrate an understanding of the confidentiality of patient information.

    Exhibit an awareness of system-wide information management responsibilities.

    Be aware of ethical and legal issues in providing patient care.

    Communicate effectively with patients and health care staff.

    Perform a variety of medical office tasks such as updating patient information in EHR system, uploading documents, and faxing documents.

    Keep inventory items organized, inform management when supplies need to be ordered, unpack supplies the day the arrive and ensure supplies are well stocked.

    Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or other higher-level staff.

    OTHER JOB DUTIES: Completes other duties as assigned by Administrative & Clinical Manager

    Qualifications

    High school diploma/GED

    Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification, a plus

    First aid and CPR certified

    Bilingual Spanish speaking, a plus

    Basic computer skills

    Ability to adhere to all health and safety guidelines

    Excellent communication and interpersonal spills

    Ability to lift heaving objects

    Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

    Ability to work with limited supervision
