ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY:

920 News Now (KXLY-AM) is Spokane's News, Traffic and Weather Station. We are looking for a morning show co-host for our morning news show that runs Monday – Friday, 5am-9am.  In addition to time spent in the studio, you will be out in the community at events and client remotes meeting our amazing listeners which can take place outside of your normal on-air show.  If you can demonstrate on-air, journalistic writing and social media/digital content skills, we want to hear from you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Key on-air voice of station's morning show
• Prepare and perform on-air shift
• Write news stories
• Prepare and create a topical news show by gathering information from wire copy, periodicals, computer and television
• Keep current on issues of importance and interest to listeners
• Interview guests and businesses to educate and entertain audience
• Contribute to station social media entities
• Attend live, in-person appearances as scheduled by the station or requested by clients
• Attend staff meetings

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

• Successful experience as broadcast show host required; news/talk preferred

• Copywriting skills

• Journalism experience

• Experience voice tracking or going live on one or more KXLY Broadcast Group radio stations when needed (vacation relief, sick days, in case of emergency, etc.)

• Prior experience developing and executing local service elements of station, i.e. local news, weather, traffic, alerts, road reports, etc.

• Previous experience with technical platforms for broadcast delivery

• Ability to demonstrate the importance of the relationship between our station and the community we serve

• Proficiency with studio board operations

• College Degree preferred
