    We Are Seeking a Project Engineer/ Coordinator

    Title: Project Engineer/ Coordinator Department: Engineering Reports to: President, Vice President Compensation: DOE

    Morillo Construction, Inc. is a full-service general building and general engineering contractor located in Pasadena, California. Our emphasis is on public works construction in Southern California, with a staff that is experienced with the special requirements of green building.

    We are seeking a qualified Project Engineer at the Coordinator level to join our growing company. Your main responsibility will be to work with and provide support to the Project Management team. Our ideal hire is someone with 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in public works with projects of $10M+ in size.

    Candidates must have knowledge of subcontractor contracting, payment applications, owner billings, insurance coordination, and closeout documentation. We are looking for a team player with excellent communication skills and a keen eye for details.

    Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to: ● Provide support for planning, scheduling, and coordinating projects to meet and exceed goals and deadlines ● Prepare complete, accurate, and timely logs to record and track documentation such as: RFIs, RFCs, bulletins, change orders, SIS schedule, schedule narratives, dailies, as-builts, submittals, correspondence, LEED requirements, photo galleries, and other necessary files ● Secure and review subcontractor submittal documentation and materials for conformance to project requirements ● Assist with the coordination and disbursement of plans, specifications, and addenda to subcontractors ● Secure and review approved submittals from Architect/ Engineer, and notify Superintendent & Project Manager of changes and potential impact; track time, weather, and other potential impacts ● Assist Project Manager and Site Superintendent with numerous aspects of construction operations; coordinating with and managing subcontractors and design professionals ● Assist in estimating and bidding processes; this includes but is not limited to attending job walks and delivering bid proposals as necessary Secure and review Shop Drawings/ Submittals ● Assist with Good Faith Effort for prospective bids ● Assist in completion of special projects as may be assigned

    Qualifications: ● Public Works construction experience (required) ● BA in Engineering, Construction Science, Construction Management, or similar relevant field (Preferred) ● Superior time management and interpersonal skills that stress a team mentality ● Excellent verbal and written communication skills ● Ability to multi-task and wear many hats ● Critical-thinker and problem solver ● Proficient in: PlanSwift and equivalent Construction Estimating Softwares
