    Job Description

    JOB SUMMARY

    Benefit Analysts are responsible for the strategic and financial analysis of employee benefits business to include both new business and renewal business in conjunction with Advisors. The position requires current knowledge of the insurance industry as well as familiarity with their products, underwriting and rating systems. The analyst is constantly helping to coordinate a high-volume workload with a deadline-driven environment and changing priorities. Strong, positive relationships with internal staff, carriers and clients is vital.

                           

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Renewal Management/New Business Quoting
    • Analysis of client’s current health and welfare benefits, objectives and strategy jointly with a survey of multiple carrier options and marketplace for client suitability
    • Tracking and negotiating renewal increases and alternate options
    • RFP Preparation and Management
    • Maintains agency management system data standards and integrity
    • Maintains client files with excellent documentation and organization of data
    • Contribution/Cost Analysis and Specialized Reporting using spreadsheets
    • Preparation of renewal/new business proposals and other materials for presentation to clients
    • Build and Maintain Marketing/Carrier Relationships
    • Stay informed of industry changes, carrier product offerings and market trends
    • Protect confidential information based on HIPPA and other regulatory privacy laws

    QUALIFICATIONS

    High school degree. A general understanding of the Independent Insurance Agency System is desired; familiar with Life & Health Operations is helpful. Proficient in software applications commonly used in an office environment as well as ability to learn new applications. Strong Excel knowledge is preferred.
