JOB SUMMARY

Personal Lines Account Managers protect our clients’ assets by offering high quality insurance products and maintaining comprehensive protection portfolios. They demonstrate unwavering commitment to exceptional customer service. They proactively develop opportunities to service and expand existing accounts, helping clients understand and utilize the insurance products they’ve purchased. They demonstrate a strong working knowledge of best practices and procedures surrounding risk exposure and coverage offerings. Account Managers provide sound advice on complex client needs and act as a coverage resource to colleagues, Managers, Supervisors and Risk Advisors.

This position can be Remote or in-office. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Provide customer service to clients, colleagues, and insurance carriers by maintaining relationships, managing expectations and using friendly, timely, and clear communication
• Continuously review and analyze client coverage to ensure needs are being met; recommend additional coverage as needed
• Maintain client files with excellent documentation and organization of data
• Provide coverage quotes, negotiate terms with underwriters, and rate business online
• Stay current on market trends and carrier information 
• Contribute to the development and implementation of department procedures
• Occasionally provide leadership, work assignments, evaluation, training, and guidance to others
• Provide coverage expertise and advice to Management, Supervisors and Risk Advisors as needed
• Participate in department planning, including managing department projects, and occasional supervisory duties including training and work auditing

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS

High school degree

Proficient in software applications commonly used in an office environment as well as ability to learn new applications

Current Property & Casualty license

Reliable transportation with current auto insurance is necessary for occasional client meetings and continuing education opportunities

An in-depth understanding of the Independent Insurance Agency system

Strong personal lines coverage knowledge

Minimum of 3 years experience in Personal Lines at an agency or brokerage, preferably experience working with affluent clients and/or complex accounts
