We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant to manage borrower prequalification, pre-approvals, and pipeline execution for a high-performing mortgage team. The Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring loans are structured properly, communicated clearly, and closed on time. This role works closely with the Loan Officer, borrowers, processors, underwriters, and third-party partners to maintain 95%+ on-time closings while delivering a concierge-level borrower and referral partner experience. Compensation: $60,000 - $80,000 base salary with potential per-file bonus, based on performance and team structure. Responsibilities: Prequalify • Serve as an available resource for referral partners • Engage in soft qualification conversations to help assess general borrower readiness and scenario viability • Answer referral partner questions such as: condo warrantability, bank statement borrower scenarios, and recasting and general loan structure questions • Communicate effectively with all referral partners (Realtors, financial advisors, builders, and other partners) using clear, accurate, and compliant language Pre-Approve • Accurately pre-approve qualified borrowers • Prepare payment and scenario requests • Proactively engage pre-approved buyers • Communicate effectively with referral partners Pipeline Management • Onboard all new contracts for rate lock consultation • Submit applications for processing for disclosures • Execute borrower updates, pre-closing, and funding calls • Ensure 95%+ of loans close on time • Resolve 95%+ of loan issues prior to LO escalation Essential Duties of This Position Prequalify • Act as an available resource for referral partners when the Loan Officer is unavailable • Engage in soft qualification conversations to assess general borrower readiness and overall scenario viability • Respond to referral partner questions related to: Condo warrantability, bank statement borrower scenarios, recasting, and general loan structure questions • Communicate clearly, accurately, and compliantly with all referral partners, including Realtors, financial advisors, builders, and other strategic partners Pre-Approve • Communicate approval terms clearly to borrowers. Issue supplemental pre-approval documentation • Notify Realtors immediately after issuing approvals • Expedite rush pre-approval requests • Flag red flags to the LO or Team Captain • Dedicate weekly time to proactive pre-approval outreach Pipeline • Perform daily pipeline “gauge checks” • Attend pipeline meetings and milestone reviews • Deliver consistent borrower and Realtor updates • Review Closing Disclosures for accuracy • Conduct pre-closing and congratulatory funding calls • Provide post-closing support and urgent after-hours assistance Additional Role Expectations • Maintain high professionalism in all written and verbal communication • Act as a concierge between borrowers and business partners • Consistently exceed borrower and referral partner expectations Qualifications: • Active NMLS license is required • Minimum 2 years of mortgage loan officer assistant, processing, underwriting, or origination experience • Proficient in DU/DO, LP, and investor guidelines • Experience with major LOS platforms • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management • Ability to collaborate across departments • Completion of regulatory and compliance training Compensation: $60,000 - $80,000 DEO + bonus potential
