    POSITION PURPOSE
    Responsible for originating various types of Mortgage loans. Conducting initial pre-qualification interviews and preparing complete loan application packages and necessary documentation. Conveying product requirements and determining the best Mortgage Loan options for members. Meeting Mortgage Loan documentation and Compliance requirements, and production expectations as determined by the Director of Mortgage Services. Develops relationships and serves members, realtors, and builders promptly and professionally. Maintains relationships with borrowers and realtors throughout the loan process with open and clear communication. Assists Mortgage Loan personnel as necessary.

    IMPORTANT NOTE
    This is not a remote position.
    This role requires in-person work at our Operations Center in West Chester, OH.

    POSITION PAY
    During the introductory period (3 - 6 months), the pay will be $26.28/hr. without earned commissions.
    Following this period, the pay will change to $21.00/hr. with uncapped commissions earned.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

    • Interviews, takes applications, and processes preliminary documentation on loan requests.
    • Discusses loan alternatives, credit criteria, interest rates, payment information and loan documentation in such a manner as to elicit positive responses from members.
    • Resolves loan application problems; Assists applicants with addressing credit report problems, low appraisals, low salary levels, and high debt ratios.
    • Notifies members if loans are referred back because of problem ratios, credit ratings, or appraisal issues.
    • Advises members of loan approval or denial; Explains loan denials precisely and clearly to members.
    • Throughout the process, must be highly professional in demeanor, attire, and communication skills.
    • Has the ability to multi-task while meeting production and sales demands.
    • Effectively manages pipeline and handles occasional pressure due to clear-to-close time constraints.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
    A high school education or GED.
    Additional coursework in Business or related field preferred.

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
    Understanding of the foundation of determining credit worthiness.
    Knowledge of Credit Union loan policies, products, procedures, processing, and underwriting guidelines.
    General understanding of secondary market transactions including FHA, VA, USDA.
    Ability to acquire knowledge of FHLB, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac policies, procedures, and programs.
    Familiarity with title reports, insurance, and appraisals.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
    One year to three years of similar or related experience.
    Background in real estate preferred.

    SKILLS/ABILITIES:
    Strong interviewing skills.
    Excellent communication and public relations abilities.
    Good analytical and financial skills.
    Ability to operate related computer applications, calculators, and other basic business equipment.
    Well organized.
