Velocity Community Credit Union is looking for a Mortgage Loan Officer to join our team.

Role:

To originate mortgage loans and increase mortgage lending presence in branches and community. Proactively search for new business opportunities and develop referral relationships. Assist members with their mortgage lending needs and pre-approve loan requests based on lending policy

Responsibilities of a Mortgage Loan Officer:

• Counsels members and prospective new members on mortgage loan options and originates conforming mortgages and home equity loans to meet department goals. Prepares initial disclosures within required timeframe and follows up with member upon completion.
• Responsible for driving business through internal and externals business channels. The job requires business development with brokers, realtors, and local builders within the market to drive business to the Credit Union as well as developing strong relationship with team members working in the branches for internal referrals.
• Work with business development /marketing to grow mortgages through community events/education. Participates in community events to build relationship within the industry.

Requirements of a Consumer Loan Officer-Outbound:

• Three to Five years of residential mortgage origination experience.
• (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
• Knowledge of the secondary market and experience with first and second mortgage residential real estate lending.
