    Job Title: Senior Mortgage Specialist
    Division/Department: Mortgage **** Lending
    Reports to: Mortgage Department Manager
     Full-time
     Non-Exempt

    Job Summary: Responsible for Front-end tasks and support; member communication; documentation preparation. Provide exceptional member service to members and internal staff at all times.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Operate as the primary point of contact for applicants during the application process.
    • Originate complete applications and gather pre-funding requirements including values, income verification, homeowners’ insurance.
    • Order and follow up with the vendors for appraisal, title search, flood certification.
    • Prepare loan documents for member signature and coordinate electronic signing/notary or branch to schedule loan closings.
    • Track progress of files through pre-closing.
    • Maintain data accuracy in LOS and ensure documents are collected and stored according to compliance.
    • Conduct quality control of initial file to ensure documentation is complete.
    • Complete KnowBe4 and BAI scheduled training courses.
    • Attend periodic internal training sessions on fraud detection and red flag documentation awareness.
    • Uphold the compliance requirement of all related federal regulations, including but not limited to; the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering policies and procedures. Complete annual BSA training requirements as established by SunWest Credit Union.
    • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

    Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

    • High School graduate or equivalent.
    • _ Minimum 2 years of related loan processing experience. Or combination of related loan processing experience and financial institution experience_
    • Real estate background preferred.
    • Working knowledge of mortgage terminology.
    • Driver’s license required.
    • NMLS Certified or Qualify to receive NMLS Certification
    • Understanding of Credit Union Philosophy
    • Excellent computer efficiency Microsoft 365.
    • Ability to operate PC and other computer systems and software, including office equipment

    Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productive standards.
    • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
    • Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 lbs.
    • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the telephone.
