    Morgan Financial is a growing, customer-centric, Mortgage Banker located in Melbourne, FL. Currently, we have an opening for a Mortgage Underwriter. We're looking for someone with experience that can plug-in to our fast-paced environment.     This position is a full-time, in-office position that requires a motivated, and detail-oriented person.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Receive order to complete loan application, initial disclosures, and provide conditional approval.

    Underwrite the loan file upfront to issue quality conditions early in the transaction

    Review the completed/processed loan file and appraisal to issue final approval

    Evaluates acceptability of loan in accordance with VA, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guidelines, secondary investor overlays, and recommends approval or rejection of the loan application.

    Ensures customer files are complete and in compliance with company, federal, and state requirements throughout the underwriting process.

    Analyze, review, and order (if necessary) DU, LP, credit reports, credit supplements, title reports, appraisals, tax transcripts, flood certifications, verifications of employment, verifications of incomes, verifications of deposits, regulatory screenings, customer identity documents

    Update conditions as needed to prevent expiration of documents and for compliance / due diligence for future loan performance

    Ensure customer privacy, security of files and appropriate staff access

    Monitor for fraud or misrepresentation of loan application

    Stay up to date with guidelines and overlays internal and external

    Avoid errors and expedite post close sale of loan to investor or secondary market.

    To be successful in this position, you will need to be able to:

    Detail oriented and a problem solver who will think critically to make determinations and communicate/suggest solutions on a file before they are an issue that impacts closing (communicate the potential issues before they become one).

    Able to comprehend lending laws, lending forms, real estate contracts and language, credit, foreclosure, short sales and delinquent accounts

    Comfortable and wanting to work in an office setting; understand the importance of being in person for communication.

    Work both independently and as part of a team

    Be efficient in completing tasks

    Articulate complex information in an easy to understand manner

    Exhibit strong work ethic

    Demonstrate superior communication skills (both written and verbal)

    Exhibit solid business competencies and computer skills

    Requirements:

    4 years mortgage experience; 1 year(s) underwriting experience

    Knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and VA underwriting guidelines

    Familiarity with Encompass is a plus; CRU a plus

    LAPP and/or SAR is a plus
