SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
Tack or finish welds a range of subassemblies using GTAW or GMAW procedures. Hand and power tools are used. Interprets blueprints to determine the best method of assembly and erection. Standard inspection techniques are used to ensure that the print parameters are met. Ensures appropriate shipment and recordkeeping by communicating with other departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Examines and keeps track of the production schedule, expedite list, and/or work orders.
- Welds metal pieces together using MIG welding and any combination of arc welding procedures in accordance with a customer's or company's specifications.
- Determine the assembly necessary and the assembly sequence of operations, examine the print, process sheet, or layout on the workpiece.
- By using layout and/or any appropriate inspection equipment, check the dimensions of component parts to ensure print compliance.
- According to the print, draws reference lines and machining positions on the workpiece.
- Use a variety of power tools.
- Assemble fixtures or small lots, he uses a Bluco or a layout table.
- Manipulates pieces by heating, clamping, or restricting them to the proper dimensions.
- Assemble the parts as needed, using welding, gas brazing, or other means.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- A combination of trade school, college, and welding experience
