    Plant Cost Accountant

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

    Determines and implements cost accounting procedures and methods for the manufacturing facility. Responsible for the preparation and analysis of cost reports and costing audits. Examines and reviews unusual cost records and ensure cost data is allocated correctly. Prepares all required management reports and special projects as required.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Determine actual costs of manufacturing and aids in eliminating manufacturing waste. 2. Develops appropriate cost accounting functions and related management reporting.

    3. Manages inventory control to include: coordinate time and motion studies to derive labor hours for product specifications, oversite of proper maintenance of product costing, proper new part setup, monthly reconciliation of plant, consigned and offsite inventories to the general ledger to include creation and posting of monthly closing journal entries, monitor inventories for proper levels and obsolescence on a monthly basis.

    4. Responsible for accurate maintenance of the Product Master Data in the ERP system. Assist in monitoring the supply chain management module in the ERP system.

    5. Calculate annual labor and overhead rates and oversee cost roll up process to update standard product costs. Prepare and present monthly reports for plant management meetings.

    6. Conduct special projects as needed for the plant general managers. Performs cost accounting and inventory control functions daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annually, as required.

    7. Coordinate the development and maintenance of a model for the purpose of accumulating and tracking of development of and/or contract manufacturing contracts for revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606 “Revenue Recognition”.

    Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Four year college degree, or equivalent experience resulting in broad knowledge of a field related to the job, such as accounting, marketing, business administration, etc., plus 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED

    Proficient in Excel, Word and have extensive working knowledge in ERP system environment.
