    ABOUT THE POSITION

Within our Data & Analytics division, our consultants work in a collaborative and fast paced environment, are self-motived, and are passionate about the ever-evolving data and technology space. This role will provide the opportunity to implement solutions that unlock the power of data-driven decision-making across the organization and industry. Moser Consulting delivers services which allow our consultants to serve clients through consultancy services, professional services, or fully managed services like Honeycomb. We have consultant levels from associate to executive depending on each candidate's experience.     As a Data Analyst in our Analytics department, you'll work as part of an interdisciplinary team including data engineers and visualization engineers, interacting with technical and non-technical audiences including client leadership, IT teams, and end-users.

    We're looking for:

    • A strong communicator experienced in technical writing and requirements gathering.
    • A data enthusiast eager to research, explore, and make connections between data points from different source systems.
    • A desire to guide businesses in improving processes through analysis and data-driven strategies.
    • An inherent curiosity to seek to understand the questions the business needs to answer and determine how those questions can be answered by data.
    • Self-initiated inquisitiveness with an eye for what drives business performance, investigating and communicating areas for improvement in efficiency and productivity.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Engage with business leaders and end-users to understand how data-driven changes to process, products, services, and/or software can improve efficiencies and add value.
    • Prepare and deliver documentation of business processes, workflows, data mappings, and current- and goal-state of data initiatives.
    • Translate analysis and findings into compelling stories and tailor your presentation and recommendations to the audience.
    • Understand data repositories and client's ETL and data management processes to include source to target mappings, business and transformation rules, and data consuming systems.
    • Highly analytical and critical mindset demonstrated by asking second and third order questions developed through exploratory data analyst

    REQUIREMENTS

    • 2+ years' experience as a Data Analyst, or a Business Analyst, working with data engineers or business intelligence teams.
    • Technical writing experience in relevant areas, including requirements gathering, business process documentation, technical process documentation, and reports & presentations.
    • Proven ability to work with colleagues, key stakeholders, and end-users to gain an in-depth understanding of critical business processes and requirements.
    • Proven success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
    • Clearly articulate pros and cons of proposed technologies/solutions.
    • Self-learner and eager to understand data, business processes, concepts, and technologies.
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in computer information information systems, computer science, data management, information systems or information science or a related field; or work experience of equal value to formal education.

    WHERE YOU'LL WORK

    Moser has two offices in Indianapolis, IN, and one in Baltimore, MD. You will have the choice to work from one of our office locations, flex your time, or remain fully remote (in the U.S.).
