Job Description

The Sales & Marketing Assistant/Intern will work with various entities within the community such as our local Chamber of Commerce memberships and other venues that offer outdoor services.

We see 3 major touchpoints in this role:

Engaging with businesses that complement our services such as pool services, landscapers, veterinarians, kennels, soccer leagues, wedding planners, and municipal entities for parades, festivals, and other events. Identifying a Marketing Co-Op would be a tremendous opportunity for us and whatever business we engage with to improve our/their customer market.

Engaging with Businesses that may have a need for our services such as restaurants, daycares, assisted living and nursing homes, HOAs, golf courses, parks, real estate offices, and campgrounds.

Community Awareness: engage with various community organizations such as Macaroni Kid, Boy/Girl Scouts, Libraries, and other Community Centers and Programs to provide an awareness on the mosquito habitat and effects of diseases they can carry. This would also include press releases as new information is released by State and other local municipalities. Blogging would also be part of this task should the need arise.

This role will require a marketing plan to determine priority on where to engage the most effort that will provide the best return on investment. Beyond penetrating the market with our brand name and increasing our customer base, the Sales and Marketing Assistant/Intern will report directly to ownership, but will collaborate with the Office Manager to ensure any promotions or incentives being offered are known and can be communicated during sales calls to our office. You will receive local training to help understand the brand, the services we provide, sales quoting, and general overview of the products we use. You will also be given some specialized training on mosquito, flea, and tick habitat and reproduction cycles to assist in calls to customers, but suggest individual training through the use of YouTube or other online resources to bolster your knowledge in this area. This is a seasonal position (Feb-July) and hours will be determined based on the marketing plan developed early in the role. Mileage and Expense budget will be determined based on the marketing plan and managed throughout the season.

Primary activities in this role include developing a marketing plan, managing promotions throughout our season, potentially identifying and working with an ambassador in the community to promote our business, remarketing and drip campaigns, working with our Corporate Marketing team, coordinating activities around our annual Mosquito Control Awareness Week (MCAW), addressing community venues and programs, attending Chamber of Commerce meetings and engaging with businesses that complement our services. You may also be asked to manage our Facebook and website, but at a minimum, provide feedback to the administrator and increase activity in both areas.
