POSITION SUMMARY: The Human Resources Generalist works both independently and collaboratively, while also prioritizing a diverse workload. Performs a variety of administrative functions associated with the day-to-day operations of the HR department that include the following functional areas: orientation, employment cycle, benefits, HRIS, employee relations, training and development, and organizational development. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of electronic data and personnel records.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Provide superior customer service and support company goals with managers and employees while providing direction on the processes, programs and policies of the company, coordinating efforts with appropriate departments and staff to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Execute staffing processes including job description development and maintenance, internal and external job postings, promotions, offer letters, pre-employment screening (background check/drug screening) and onboarding new MFCP employees.
- Maintain complete and compliant personnel files, HR forms and HRIS records.
- Develops relevant job interview questions per position. Assist District and Branch managers with Branch recruiting efforts, including posting jobs and screening/interviewing candidates.
- Assist with benefits administration, including education of employees on company plans, responding to benefit inquiries, support for claims resolution, participate in annual open enrollment efforts, as well as audit of enrollment reports.
- Manage and coordinate leave of absence requests and disability paperwork including: medical, personal, ADA and FMLA requests. Executes all aspects of Family and Medical Leave Act and Americans with Disabilities Act.
- Develop or update MFCP policies and procedures per HR Director directive. Ensure that HR policies, procedures and practices are executed consistently, fairly and in compliance with local, state and federal law.
- Design, contribute, edit and distribute Company Newsletter.
- Manage and administer the MFCP Wellness Program.
- Manage Worker Compensation claims includes directing supervisor & employee claim filing, post-accident drug test administration, monitor medical treatment and return to work progress, OSHA reporting (300, 301, 300A) logs and coordination of efforts with TPA and/or applicable state agencies.
- Assist in administration of talent management programs: training & development, compensation and ongoing performance process.
- Support compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws related to Human Resources, including e-Verify, unemployment claims, EEO-1 and VETS 4212 reporting.
- Assist in development and administration of various HR programs and procedures for all company employees.
- Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend relevant meetings and seminars.
- Assist Director of Human Resources with various special projects by clarifying project objective; setting and meeting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information; fulfilling objectives.
- Prepare accurate reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Continuous focus on improving job knowledge through a variety of development opportunities.
- Assist in the administration of the MFCP Safety Program.
- Adhere to strict Safety Guidelines.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree plus minimum of three (3) years of Human Resources experience is required; or High School Diploma or GED equivalent plus five (5) years of experience in multiple HR disciplines.
- Requires comprehensive knowledge of core Human Resources competencies.
- Well-developed team skills, unquestioned integrity, and the experience, confidence and presence to effectively handle interpersonal relationships and sensitive HR issues requiring the highest level of confidentiality.
- Excellent written & oral communication and strong relationship building skills required.
- Detail oriented with solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong computer skills including use of MS Office (Word, Excel & Outlook), with a willingness to learn new software programs. Experience with Paylocity and ClearCompany is a plus.
- Must be a good listener with above average reasoning ability.
- Ability to adhere to and meet deadlines utilizing strong administrative and data management skills.
- Ability to raise issues proactively and in a timely manner
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is generally completed in an office environment. Frequent sitting, computer work and phone use are required, with occasional walking, standing, bending and lifting up to 20 pounds. The physical demands and work environment reflected are representative of those encountered by employees when performing the essential job functions.
