    Company Overview: Motionworks AI is a rapidly growing Series A Population Intelligence SaaS company focused on empowering organizations to make data-driven decisions. We are seeking an experienced CFO with both finance and operations experience in helping lead early stage SaaS companies.

    The CFO is a vital leadership position responsible for overseeing all financial management aspects of the Company. They will provide strategic guidance and coordination in administrative, business planning, accounting, finance, and operations. As a direct liaison between the Company, investors, and outside partners, the CFO will play a critical role in providing financial insight and strategic support to the CEO, Board of Directors and senior leadership to drive the organization's growth and evolution.

    In addition, the CFO will provide a leading role, working with members of the leadership team to ensure the Company's operational infrastructure supports the execution of current and future business objectives

    Strategic Leadership:

    • Collaborate with the CEO and executive team members, leveraging financial and management information analysis, reports, and recommendations to provide consultative support for planning initiatives.
    • Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, actively participating in planning and policy-making while ensuring financial alignment with departmental plans and goals.
    • Oversee the reporting and monitoring and driving towards organizational performance and SaaS metrics to identify areas of improvement and opportunities for growth
    • Develop and direct the implementation of strategic business and operational plans, projects, programs, and systems.
    • Set short and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures for the Finance department. Take a leadership role in identifying and implementing operational needs required to scale other areas of the organization (delivery, customer support/success, etc) working with departmental leaders.
    • Provide oversight for all accounting functions, including cash flow planning, daily, weekly, monthly and annual reporting, organizational and departmental budgeting, and forecasting.
    • Manage the Financial, Planning and Analysis (FP&A) function.
    • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, financial reports, special analysis, and information reports used by Executive Management, the Board, and the Audit Committee.
    • Approve and coordinate changes and improvements in automated financial and management information systems.
    • Develop and implement finance, accounting, billing, and auditing procedures.
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements.
    • Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards.
    • Maintain records systems in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
    • Coordinate and facilitate the annual external audit process.
    • Recruit, train, develop, supervise, and evaluate finance/accounting department staff.
    • Manage taxation function including any outside tax advisors.
    • Manage treasury function including any Company bankers/lenders and compliance with debt covenants.
    • Implement appropriate risk management including management of all insurance vendors.
    • Manage overall Human Resources and Payroll / benefits functions (as required).
    • Manage Legal function including all legal vendors.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years of direct CFO experience.
    • Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
    • Minimum of 5 years of direct CFO experience with a SaaS company including knowledge of issues and challenges facing SaaS companies.
    • Minimum of 3 years working for Private Equity or Venture Capital backed business.
    • M&A experience preferred.
    • Demonstrated experience in business management at a senior level, with progressive responsibilities in diverse business settings.
    • Proven experience in navigating major organizational changes.
    • Exceptional written, verbal, and listening communication skills required.

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Strong leadership and strategic management skills, with the ability to align and implement operations and financial strategies with the Company's overall objectives.
    • Sound knowledge of SaaS industry dynamics and the ability to address challenges and leverage opportunities in the market.
    • Ability to identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing appropriate controls.
    • Proficiency in financial management software and systems to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
    • Adaptability to changing business environments, leading financial and operational initiatives during periods of change or expansion.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and senior executives.
    • Uncompromising ethical standards, maintaining the highest level of integrity and transparency in financial practices.
    • Proactive approach to identifying process improvement opportunities and implementing innovative financial strategies.
    • Familiarity with local, state, and federal financial regulations and compliance requirements.
    • Strong organizational skills, effectively prioritizing and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
