    CEC Motor and Utility Services has an immediate opportunity for a full-time Motor Pump Mechanic at our Service Center in Palmetto, FL. We are accepting qualified, experienced, and versatile applicants as well as inexperienced candidates with strong mechanical knowledge who are highly motivated to learn. Pay will be based on experience and skill level. Physical Demands: • Must be able to remain stationary up to 50% of the time. • Occasionally, move about within the shop to gather materials. • Constantly place and position small and large parts/materials during the diagnostic and repair process. • Must be able to bend, climb, stoop, and lift and carry up to 50 pounds without difficulty. Work Environment: • Work is primarily performed indoors in a climate-controlled shop. Reporting Relationships : • The Motor Pump Mechanic reports to the Motor Shop Manager. Hours: • Monday - Friday (7:00 am - 3:30 pm) • Occasional Voluntary Overtime Pay Frequency: • Weekly FLSA Status : • Non-Exempt Disclaimer : This position requires drug and background screening. Responsibilities: • Disassemble, repair, and test Pumps, AC motors DC Motors, and Controls. • Perform complete repairs and overhauls on pumps, blowers, fans, compressors, and gearboxes. • Utilize basic electrical test equipment to troubleshoot motors and pumps. • Occasionally interact with customers and/or crews at job sites and provide exceptional service to each customer. • Keep the facility clean and orderly. • Occasionally may be asked to perform other functions not particularly addressed in this posting. • Filling and filing paperwork. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: • High school graduate or equivalent. • Strong mechanical aptitude. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Dependable and willing to learn. Preferred Qualifications: • 3+ years of electric motor and pump repair experience. • 3+ years of experience dismantling, balancing, testing, and troubleshooting electric motors and generators, AC or DC. • Familiarity with surge testing, hi-pot testing, use of megger, drop voltage tests, AC/DC theory, and AC and DC electric motor connections. Compensation: $22 - $35 hourly
