    Job Description

     

    SUMMARY:    THIS POSITION WILL TRAIN UP TO UNDERWRITING. Process mortgage loan applications from set-up through funding for various mortgage loan programs by performing the duties described below. Pipeline will consist of loans from various sources including branch overflow, branches without internal processing, new branches joining MWF, and specific retail products. Support MWF efficiency initiatives including LoanBeam, FastForward, and certain “underwriting” functions. Position also acts as a resource to the retail branches.   

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Include the following:

    • Satisfactorily completes all required compliance training and is responsible for compliance with legal, regulatory and company policies.

    • Reviews and reconciles residential loan application file to verify that application data is complete and accurate as well as meets industry and company standards including type and amount of mortgage, assets, liabilities, and length of employment.

    • Responsible for electronically and manually verifying loan application details such as; DataVerify, LDP/GSA, zip codes, 4506-T, VOE, VOI, VOM, VOA, credit supplements, evidence of insurance requests, and completes necessary fields in LQB(origination system).

    • Call or write/email credit bureau/3rd party credit company.

    • Call or write/email employer to verify accuracy of information.

    • Orders appraisal reports/re-inspections

    • Requests additional items in writing and verbally from borrowers- Per LO direction.

    • Contact specified companies to obtain escrow instructions and preliminary title policy, etc.

    • Upload, reconcile and manage documentation into loan file.

    • Submit mortgage loan application file for underwriting approval.

    • Prepare Loan Estimate, Closing Disclosure, closing loan documents.

    • Coordinate and communicate with MLO throughout the mortgage transaction.

    • Notifies MLO of loans that do not meet standards.

    • Prepares denial letters to applicants.

    • Coordinates mortgage closing with closing agent and/or escrow company.

    • Review and reconcile LoanBeam results for branches.

    • Underwrite FastForward and certain other transactions for branches.

    • Act in the capacity of a Help Desk Team Member to field branch questions.

    • Able to recognize and set priorities.

    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    ·         SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

    ·         Excellent organizational and time management skills.

    ·         Effective verbal and written communication skills required.

    ·         Effective decision-making skills and sound judgment.

    ·         Service and team oriented.

    ·         Fluent in Spanish preferred.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

    ·         High School Diploma or equivalent.

    ·         Minimum 5 years of loan processing experience including FHA (including 203k), VA, USDA, Conventional and various Down Payment Assistance programs.

    ·         Experience in preparing Loan Estimates, Closing Disclosures, closing loan documents preferred.
