    Job Description: As a Montessori Assistant Guide at Mountain Willow Montessori, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational journey of our young learners. Working closely with the Lead Guide and within our nature-oriented environment, you will facilitate engaging learning experiences that inspire curiosity, independence, and a love for learning.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    1. Support Montessori Classroom Activities: Assist the Lead Guide in implementing Montessori-inspired lessons and activities that cater to the developmental needs and interests of children aged 3-6 years old.
    2. Supervise Outdoor Learning: Embrace our nature-centric approach by facilitating outdoor learning experiences for at least 2 hours daily, encouraging children to explore, interact with natural materials, and engage in unstructured play within the outdoor environment.
    3. Provide Individualized Support: Offer one-on-one guidance and support to children as they navigate Montessori materials and activities, fostering independence, problem-solving skills, and self-confidence.
    4. Maintain Classroom Environment: Collaborate with the Lead Guide to ensure the classroom environment is orderly, inviting, and conducive to learning, including arranging materials, organizing activity stations, and creating nature-inspired learning corners.
    5. Promote Positive Behavior: Model and reinforce positive behavior and social skills, promoting a respectful and inclusive classroom culture where children feel valued, supported, and empowered to express themselves.
    6. Communicate Effectively: Maintain open and proactive communication with the Lead Guide, fellow staff members, and parents/guardians, providing updates on children's progress, concerns, and achievements.
    7. Attend Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training, workshops, and professional development opportunities to deepen your understanding of Montessori principles, nature-based education, and child development best practices.
    8. Ensure Health and Safety: Prioritize the health and safety of all children, adhering to school policies and procedures, conducting regular safety checks, and promptly addressing any concerns or hazards.

    Qualifications:

    • Previous experience working with children aged 3-6 years old, preferably in a Montessori or nature-based educational setting.
    • Flexibility and willingness to work the specified hours and teach outside for at least 2 hours daily, regardless of weather conditions.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with children, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
    • Passion for nature-based education, fostering curiosity, and nurturing a love for learning in young children.
