BACKGROUND

Moving Analytics is seeking Backend Engineers to maintain and improve our backend systems and ensure our data remain safe and intact. You will be able to design cloud-based architecture and security frameworks from the ground up and strongly influence the design of our next generation platform. You will also gain tremendous on the ground experience in building infrastructure in the healthcare domain with exposure to frameworks such as HIPAA and HITRUST. You will get a lot of hands on work and deep collaborations between multiple departments including clinical operations and sales. Your work will help in creating a robust, secure backend framework that our customers can use to deliver world-class rehab experience and help patients prevent heart attacks and surgeries. Moving Analytics provides Movn - a virtual cardiac rehabilitation service to help patients recover after a heart attack or heart surgery. Movn helps patients reduce their risk of a future cardiac event by empowering them to manage their health including exercise, nutrition, smoking, blood pressure, weight, medication, and stress.

LOCATION

• Los Angeles, CA or Irvine, CA
• Standard Schedule: a minimum of 3 days on-site is required, with the option to remote 2 days each week
• During the pandemic, we are fully remote with on-site as an option at the company's discretion

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with the frontend, full-stack engineers and QA to establish objectives and design more functional, cohesive codes (APIs) to enhance the user experience.
• Maintain and improve company data security including data encryption, access control, site intrusion detection, etc.
• Monitor backend system performance, optimize data structures, APIs, algorithms and architecture to improve responds time.
• Develop ideas for new programs, products, or features by monitoring industry developments and trends.
• Compile and analyze data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement.
• Take lead on projects, as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

• At least two years' experience with Node.js, Express.js.
• Familiar with database technology such as MongoDB and MySQL.
• Strong understanding of the development cycle and programming techniques and tools like jira and github.
• Familiar with and understand common backend architectures like load balancing.
• Strong scripting skills, be able to generate and process data efficiently using JS or Python scripts.
• Familiar with and understand common security practices such as data encryption, backup and firewalls.
• Bachelor's degree in computer programming, computer science, or a related field is preferred.
• Focus on efficiency, user experience, and process improvement.
• Strong problem solving and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently or with a group.
