Precision Assist is looking to hire both Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners in Austin, TX with 1+ years of surgical experience to join our team (Urology experience preferred).

    ESSENTIAL WORK SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

    • Must have experience working as a first assist
    • Primary role is to perform first assist duties in surgery
    • Ability to render emergency care on operating patients
    • Perform a pre-op exam and correlate symptoms to procedure and diagnosis
    • Ability to talk to patients in pre-op and answer any questions about the surgery as well as explain your involvement
    • Perform comprehensive and problem-focused patient histories to ensure there are no special requirements for surgery
    • Aid operating surgeon/facility staff with any pre-op preferences including but not limited to radiographic studies set-up, instrumentation set-up, and patient positioning
    • Transfer/escort patients back to PACU and assess post-op condition, ensure there are no complications and that the procedure was successful
    • Assist with any clinical/management projects for the betterment of your territory/team

    Education/Training:

    • Must have excellent computer skills, specifically MS Office, Diagnostic imaging systems, and EMR
    • Must be a graduate of an Accredited Master’s Degree program for Physician Assistant Studies for PAs, or a Master/Doctoral Degree Program in Nurse Practitioner Studies for NPs
    • Must possess current state license where practicing and PAs must hold National Commissioned Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
    • At least one year of surgical experience required
    • Background in any one of the following specialties is preferred: Spine, Neuro, Ortho, Robotics, Urology, Cardiothoracic and/or OBGYN

    Preferred Skills

    Able to perform all essential duties with or without accommodations, including but not limited to:

    • Willingness to expand current surgical expertise and learn how to assist on different specialties
    • Provide health care services to patients under direction and responsibility of physician including assessing and educating patients
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong organization and documentation skills

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Able to perform all essential duties with or without accommodations, including but not limited to:

    • Ability to lift, sit, stand, or squat
    • Constantly seeing, hearing, and speaking
    • Frequent lifting to 20+ lbs. in addition to bending, reaching, standing, walking, and kneeling
