ESSENTIAL WORK SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
- Updates and maintains physician CVs
- Completes Initial and reappointments applications on all physician for local and out reach hospitals
- Completes initial credentialing and re-credentialing applications on all physicians
- Ensures all clinical staff licensures and certificates are current
- Assists Business Office staff as needed
- Maintains strictest confidentiality
- Performs other duties as assigned
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Able to perform all essential duties with or without accommodations, including but not limited to:
- Knowledge of medical credentialing
- Skill with computer applications
- Tactfulness in dealing with patients, co-workers and other professional offices.
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to courteously work with medical staff, hospital staff, insurance company representatives, co-workers, and others
- Is the subject-matter expert for credentialing staff and leadership; effectively communicates information to staff
- Ability to communicate clearly in both oral and written forms
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
- Minimum of two years’ experience in credentialing physician or surgeon claims
- Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) credentials are preferred
- Knowledge of legal and regulatory government provisions
- Knowledge of laws that regulates communication and privacy act. HIPAA laws and understanding of the application of all above
