Summary:
The Certified Medical Assistant will perform routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices of physicians and other health practitioners running both effective and efficiently. Serves as a liaison between patients, nurses, physicians, and others.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greets patients and visitors upon arrival. Manages the front desk and obtains patient history and vitals in preparation of physical exam.
- Provides general patient care and administration of treatments.
- Prepares patient and assists medical provider in the examination and testing of patient.
- Ensure patient records are maintained and up to date prior to their appointment, including labs, hospital notes, and testing information.
- Coordinates and schedules patient appointments and surgical appointments.
- Maintains and upholds HIPPA compliance policy and procedure standards.
- Communicates effectively with all staff members.
- High proficiency and attention to detail is required.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Performs other tasks and related work as required.
License:
- Certified Medical Assistant (required)
- BLS/CPR (preferred)
Education:
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 year experience working in a physician’s office (customer service focused)
