    GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR A PERMANENT POSITION AT ALL JUICE !

    The JUICE BLENDER AND PASTEURIZER is responsible for preparing batch blends of juices to formulation specifications. This position is also required to perform proper cleaning and sanitizing processes for all equipment and production areas and eliminate the hazard of spoilage in juices through pasteurization. Individual must be able to provide leadership of blending and pasteurization processes along with completion of appropriate documentation. This is a full-time, early shift, non-exempt position that reports to the Quality Assurance Manager. 

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Operate and tend equipment to blend juice based on specific brix, acid ratios and blend formulations; and appropriately record within batch sheet
    • Operate computer control panel, or manually to open valves, and initiate flow of juice through pasteurizing equipment into designated tanks
    • Ensure compliance to plant policies and Federal and State regulations including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP)/Hazard Analysis and Risk-Based Preventive Controls (HARPC) and document pasteurization process
    • Perform periodic tests to ensure product quality and adherence to formulation
    • Document test results; communicate deviations to management and co-workers
    • Perform periodic change over and clean up procedures; utilizing the Cleaning in Place (CIP) system to include thorough documentation of all processes and procedures
    • Stage ingredients prior to start of blend utilizing standard operating procedures (SSOPs) for blending processes
    • Report usage in software system 
    • Perform physical ingredient inventory as needed/directed
    • Maintain temperature records in refrigerated warehouse and tempering logs
    • Inspect, report, and receive fructose tanker
    • Adhere to quality and safety standards
    • Report blend times accurately
    • Other duties and/or special projects as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
    • Previous manufacturing experience preferred but will train the right candidate!
    • Ability to learn software and to report items used by lot, item number, formulation number, date of use, and/or quantity
    • Must be detail oriented and quick learner
    • Must be able to effectively communicate and report any issue or concern that may involve food safety, product and/or equipment issues to the proper management authority
    • Ability to learn safe chemical handling and chemical material management
    • Ability to follow instructions and work within deadlines
    • Ability to work alone or as a member of a team, good cooperative skills
    • Ability to learn microbial and analytical testing procedures
    • Ability to communicate verbally and by written reports, the results of analytical testing, observations, and problems
    • Musts be able to work with and maintain continual communication with other team members including the immediate supervisor, quality control, maintenance, production scheduling, warehouse, etc. in order to keep operations running as efficiently as possible
    • Computation: Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
    • Reasoning: Ability to understand flow of materials through a production and warehouse facility, both physically and in the system, and the impacts from any deviation of procedure. Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations.
    • May require flexibility in scheduling

    PAY:

    • Up to $17.00/hour, with starting wage based on experience; OT as required

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be expected to work inside a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to changing temperatures (hot, cold, humid), moving mechanical parts, equipment, dust, fumes, chemicals, and loud noises. The noise level in the work environment can be loud; vibration levels are moderate.
